The social media fallout from Karamo Brown's appearance on Dancing With The Stars in the US has continued, with Queer Eye's Bobby Berk stepping up to defend his co-star.
The controversy began when 'culture expert' Brown - alongside none other than former Trump administration Press Secretary Sean Spicer.
Fans of Queer Eye were upset when Brown, who gives "emotional and mental makeovers" on the show, referred to Spicer as "a good guy; a really sweet guy."
“I was most excited to meet him,” Brown said during a red carpet interview, according to .
“I’m a big believer that if you can talk to someone and meet in the middle, you can learn about each other and help each other both grow.”
Doubling down on his comments, Brown eventually deleted his Twitter account over the backlash. However, now Berk has stepped in to defend him, saying Brown was simply dealing with ABC's 'disgusting' casting choice as best he could.
“Everything around us is constantly too political as it is,” Berk wrote in a series of tweets, which have since been deleted.
“Shame on you ABC for now making this beloved show political by casting one of the biggest liars who has ever been."
Berk added: “It’s called ‘Dancing with the STARS’ and the fact that you’re calling him a star is disgusting."
Berk continued, explaining that he and Brown had been trained to only speak positively about people when being interviewed by the media.

“Don’t talk negatively about people in interviews! Always be nice!” he wrote.
“...@ABCNetwork should be ashamed of themselves for having put the cast in the position of having to take a political side on a f**king dance competition.”
Meanwhile, ABC backed its decision to cast Spicer in the series.
According to , a spokesperson for the network said: "We’ve got a great and diverse cast. We are excited about the season."
Before deleting his Twitter account, Brown tweeted: “I see you & I hear you. I’m bringing my personal message of love, equity & inclusion to the dance floor."
