I guess it was all too good to be true.
Members of the Queer Eye fandom have been on an emotional roller-coaster this week, with 'Fab Five' member Karamo Brown appearing to confirm that his beloved co-stars Antoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness were a romantic item.
Rumours have been circulating for a while now that the pair were involved, with both Porowski and JVN leaving their respective relationships around the same time and posing in multiple suggestive photographs together (ie. ).
However, when a photograph of the pair emerged with a seemingly disgruntled Brown appearing in the background, speculation was taken to a whole other level.
"I love you both. And for all who are asking. It's real," Brown wrote in response to the photo.
He added: "They are a couple and in love. First Fab 5 couple."
Naturally, fans were quick to melt down over the news on social media.
However, celebrations were cut painfully short when both Porowski and JVN both denying the news.
Addressing the blissful hysteria on Twitter, Van Ness tweeted: "For clarification, & I are a couple.... of very close friends who run a satirical couple account and may fall in love someday, but that day is not necessarily today."
RIP Jontoni.

So, was it all a publicity stunt for the new season of the popular Netflix makeover show? Or is there something deeper and more involved afoot?
