33-year-old Sofia Sam and 35-year-old Arun Kamalasanan have been accused of murdering the woman's husband Sam Abraham at his home in Epping, Melbourne in October 2015.

On Friday, the court heard Mr Kamalasanan drew a detailed sketch of his victim’s home showing where he hid before he allegedly poisoned Sam in his house, reports.

Mr Kamalasanan’s conversations with an undercover cop were recorded and played in the court.

The secret video recordings played in the Supreme Court show Mr Kamalasanan saying, “I was here,” as he pens a circle on the paper to indicate a bush across from the house where he initially hid.

He then goes on to describe how he made his way inside through garage door when Mr Abraham’s wife, Sofia Sam, arrived home about 10pm on October 14, 2015.

He then allegedly told the cop that he followed the family’s movement through peeping through the windows.

“It sounds a bit unbelievable,” the covert officer is heard saying, when Mr Kamalasanan describes how he sneaked into the house and slipped sleeping tablets into an unattended avocado smoothie.

reports his alleged confession came following a five-month undercover operation by police.

But hours later when his police record of interview was played to the jury, the accused denied any involvement.

When asked by homicide squad detectives if he was involved in Mr Abraham’s murder, he said: “I don’t know anything.”

The trial has heard Mr Kamalasanan and Ms Sam met as classmates in an Indian college about 15 years ago. The jury was told they reconnected after they both moved to Melbourne and were meeting in secret.

The jury heard the lovers expressed their deep affection for each other in a diary they shared.

Police allege Ms Sam, 33, helped Mr Kamalasanan kill her husband.

They have both been charged with murder, and pleaded not guilty. The trial, before Justice Paul Coghlan, will continue on Monday.
