It's safe to say that music superstar Sam Smith is getting just a little bit excited for their first ever Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.
The singer is already gearing up for their headline performance at tomorrow night's official after party, where they'll be joined by the likes of Dua Lipa, Kesha, and a slew of talented local and international DJs and performers.
Taking to social media, Smith has been documenting their time in Sydney - sharing several quick drag looks, as well as collaborating with local fashion designers including Frida Las Vegas, who decked the performer out in one of their 'Road Sign' kaftans, along with earrings and a headscarf to match.
"Mardi Gras ready!" Smith wrote alongside one photo, in which they clutch a toy koala as though it were a Louis Vuitton.
In another photo shared across social media, Smith poses alongside their local publicist in matching quick drag looks. Without reading too much into it, there's also a pretty fantastic pair of sparkly read high heels placed in the foreground - a possible hint at one of their Mardi Gras looks.
In an additional sign of affection for Australia, Smith then took a photo alongside a mural by local arts legend Scott Marsh, writing: "Sydney. I’m home!"
They continued: "I can’t wait for this weekend. I’m a Mardi Gras virgin and I’m ready for my cherry to be popped!"
In another post, Smith, who has previously donated concert proceeds to our fight for same-sex marriage and bushfire relief efforts, said Australia holds a special place in their heart.
"Australia has meant so much to me as a queer person and I'm going to be singing at Mardi Gras this year. I can't wait to be with you after such a challenging time.
"Hopefully we can spread that love and celebrate and sing and dance. So yeah, Mardi Gras, I can't wait to see you!"
2020 will see Mardi Gras transform The Hordern Pavilion and surrounding areas into a brand-new adult play land, bursting with music, light and performance across new fantasy worlds for party goers to immerse themselves in. It sounds like Smith will be right at home.
