Actor Jeff Goldblum has revealed some of the struggles faced by his late brother, Lee, who was gay.

Speaking to , 67-year-old Goldblum shared that his father, who had a "traditional masculine sense of himself", subjected Lee to so-called 'gay conversion' therapy.

According to Goldblum, when Lee passed away in 2000, his father kept his son's sexuality a secret from the family.

“He didn’t tell the rest of us,” .

“Sent him to a therapist in order to ‘fix him’. It was all secret. That’s not so nourishing.”
Goldblum added: “My dad was, without knowing why, conspicuously cruel to [Lee] at times.”

The Jurassic Park star said that, before his death, Lee faced numerous “troubles of one kind or another”, such as “physical ailments, [being] overweight, pharmaceuticals abuse and self-medication issues.”

He attended medical school, but eventually dropped out to join the army, before becoming a taxi driver and struggling with long-term employment. Then he moved in with their parents “for the last couple of decades of his life,” Goldblum recalled.

Later in the interview, Goldblum shared how he met his wife, Canadian rhythmic gymnast Emilie Livingston.

Introducing himself as Jeff Goldblum, it turned out the former Olympian didn't really know who he was - and "still has not seen" most of his movies.
