Kesha and Bob Dylan have contributed to a new EP of classic love songs, recorded with a same-sex twist.
Publicly signalling his support for the LGBTIQ+ community for the first time, Dylan has re-recorded the classic track "She’s Funny That Way", turning it into a gay anthem for the mini-album, titled Universal Love: Wedding Songs Reimagined.
"If you look at the history of pop music, love songs have predominantly come from one heterosexual perspective," Tom Murphy, one of the album's co-producer told the .
He continued: "If we view music as something that brings people together, shouldn’t these popular songs be open to everyone?"
The album was funded by MGM Resorts International, as part of a push to facilitate same-sex weddings, which account for between 20 percent and 30 percent of weddings held at the company's 15 Las Vegas hotels.
