Watch daily extended highlights of all three days from the 2022 World Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Croatia this weekend via SBS On Demand.
Headlining the Australian roster is two-time Olympian and World Athletics Indoor Tour high-jump champion Eleanor Patterson, who broke the world record at her debut indoor event in Slovakia last month with a 1.99 metre jump.
The 25-year-old now heads into Belgrade as the clear favourite for a gold medal and is looking to continue her strong start to indoor competition.
“It’s been a fun experience competing indoors and certainly fantastic to start with an indoor record and equalling my PB,” Patterson said last week ahead of the event.
“It’s been a good start to my year and my season and I am excited for what is to come, and I’m looking to continue to build upon everything I do.”
The Aussie team also boasts an Olympic decathlon bronze medallist in Ash Moloney, who became the first Australian decathlete to win a medal in the event at last year's Tokyo Games.
At just 21-years-old with such an achievement already under his belt, Moloney will surely be one to watch in the heptathlon as he looks to bring another medal back home.
Moloney and Patterson will be joined by Australian indoor record-holders Catriona Bisset, Jessica Hull, Oliver Hoare and Chris Douglas, as well as Tokyo finalist Linden Hall.
Rounding out the team are Liz Clay, Charlie Hunter, Kurtis Marschall, Nina Kennedy, Matthew Ramsden and Nicholas Andrews, as well as senior team debutants Lauren Ryan and Tom Willems.
