Cycling charity begins at #stayathome

Here's a few more pro road cyclists who are giving up their time, goods and/or services during the coronavirus pandemic to help out those who need it including sprint star Dylan Groenewegen and Aussies Rohan Dennis and Richie Porte.

Like Astana rider Davide Martinelli who is delivering goods in his Italian hometown, Dutch powerhouse Dylan Groenewegen is also playing bike courier to those who can't get out for groceries.

"In the coming period, I will deliver groceries by bicycle to the elderly and care providers who are currently unable to do this themselves," he posted on Instagram.
He's also doing it while totally on brand with his team's title sponsor Jumbo, buying and delivering from the leading Dutch supermarket. 

Fellow sprinter, Belgian Jolien D'Hoore has also offered up her services.
"Also in these corona times I like to contribute," the Boels-Dolmans rider posted to her Twitter account. "That is why I would like to play bicycle courier.

"So there are elderly or needy people who need small groceries, send me a message before Saturday and I will deliver them at home on Sunday."

Pros Richie Porte and Rohan Dennis also donated their time, participating in a series of 'VeloTalks' organised by rider agent Andrew McQuaid from Trinity Sports Management. After contributing via , donors receive a direct link to listen to the Aussies waxing lyrical. Kiwis George Bennett and Shane Archbold also participated in the series and total proceeds will be donated to NHS Charities Together - Covid-19 Urgent appeal, St James Hospital Superheroes, New Zealand Red Cross, Australian Red Cross, and the Latvian Covid-19 Assistance Fund.
The Spanish Red Cross will receive the funds raised by retired cyclist Alberto Contador after he auctions his 2011 Giro/Tour Specialized bike.
"We are still fighting with this Covid-19 and I want to make one more effort," Contador said. "I think there is no better time than now. I'm going to auction this bike, original Giro-Tour 2011 very special for me. I will do it through EBay, I "
