Like Astana rider Davide Martinelli who is delivering goods in his Italian hometown, Dutch powerhouse Dylan Groenewegen is also playing bike courier to those who can't get out for groceries.
"In the coming period, I will deliver groceries by bicycle to the elderly and care providers who are currently unable to do this themselves," he posted on Instagram.
He's also doing it while totally on brand with his team's title sponsor Jumbo, buying and delivering from the leading Dutch supermarket.
Fellow sprinter, Belgian Jolien D'Hoore has also offered up her services.
"Also in these corona times I like to contribute," the Boels-Dolmans rider posted to her Twitter account. "That is why I would like to play bicycle courier.
"So there are elderly or needy people who need small groceries, send me a message before Saturday and I will deliver them at home on Sunday."
Pros Richie Porte and Rohan Dennis also donated their time, participating in a series of 'VeloTalks' organised by rider agent Andrew McQuaid from Trinity Sports Management. The Spanish Red Cross will receive the funds raised by retired cyclist Alberto Contador after he auctions his 2011 Giro/Tour Specialized bike.
