Ngarigo woman Ash Barty has exploded on to the Australian Open scene with a second decisive win in as many days.
The efforts of Italian Camila Giorgi couldn't withstand the barrage from the World No. 1, who romped to a 6-1 6-1 victory in just 52 minutes.
It was a close reflection of yesterday's game, which Barty tied up 6-1 6-0 in only 54 minutes.
It takes her grand total of lost games this tournament to three, leaving no one in any doubt about her intentions for the Cup.
In a post match interview, the elite athlete was typically gracious, highlighting the efforts of her team.
“We played well... throughout tough matches," she said.
"I feel like our whole team works extremely well together. We’re enjoying our tennis and being able to produce some pretty good stuff.”
Her second win comes on an auspicious day: the Australian Open is celebrating its inaugural 'First Nations Day', a chance to honour the history and culture of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Asked about the Indigenous history of the game, Barty had some glowing praise for her mentor and sporting legend, Wiradjuri woman Evonne Goolagong Cawley.
“She’s an incredible human being," said Barty.
"I’m extremely lucky to call her a friend and know she’s only a phone-call away.
"She’s an incredible woman (who has) paved a path and guided so many of the Indigenous youth coming up in the last however many years throughout her work off the court.
"I love her to death.”
