ACTU wants a 7% increase to Australia’s minimum and award wages

The peak body representing Australian workers is pushing for the biggest increase to the minimum wage in decades. Around 2.6 million of the country's lowest paid workers would see their hourly rate jump from $21.38 - to $22.88. The Union says it's needed to keep up with soaring inflation - but industry groups say it would unleash more pain on already struggling small businesses.
