Australia has recorded 22 new COVID-19-related deaths, including four in NSW, 11 in Victoria, six in Queensland and one in South Australia.
In Victoria, there were 6,075 new COVID-19 infections on Saturday.
The number of Victorians in hospital declined overnight by 10 to 175 patients. This includes 22 people in intensive care with four on ventilation.
There are 40,530 active cases in the state.
Victoria has 62.2 per cent of adults vaccinated with three doses, ahead of mandatory vaccination rules kicking in for key workers.
After being pushed back, the deadline is fast approaching for aged care, disability, emergency service, meat processing, quarantine and food distribution workers to get their third jab.
From 11.59pm on Saturday, these workers, including contractors, volunteers and students on placement, will need to have received a third dose to attend work.
Healthcare workers who received their first jab before 12 September will also be required to have their third before 11.59pm on Saturday.
NSW posted a further decline in COVID-19 cases, with 12,850 new infections and a further four virus-related deaths on Saturday.
The state reported more than 14,000 new cases on Friday and more than 16,000 on Thursday.
Health officials say there are 966 coronavirus patients in hospitals across the state. Of these, 40 are in intensive care.
Of the latest cases, 7,624 were detected via rapid antigen kits and 5,226 as a result of PCR lab tests.
Meanwhile, NSW continues to struggle with booster vaccination coverage.
About 56.7 per cent of eligible adults have received a third dose, while 95.9 per cent of those aged 16 and over have had one vaccine shot and 94.4 per cent have had two.
Meanwhile in Queensland, six further COVID-related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours.
The state posted 4,029 new cases from 6,084 tests. There are currently 247 people in hospital, with 15 in ICU.
Western Australia records 4,300 new infections
Western Australia recorded 4,300 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday.
There are 103 people with COVID-19 in WA hospitals, while five patients are in intensive care.
Of the state's 22,757 active cases, 19,975 are in the metropolitan area, 559 are in the South West, and 388 are in the Pilbara.
Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson says WA is still in the early stages of its outbreak, with cases forecast to rise significantly from about 14 March.
COVID-19 hospitalisations will then peak about 10 days later, towards the end of the month.
In South Australia, one man in his 40s who tested positive for the virus has died. There are 98 people in hospital, including nine in ICU.
The state recorded 2,374 new cases on Saturday, bringing the total active cases to 15,850.
Tasmania has 14 people in hospital with the virus, with the state health department saying eight are being treated specifically for COVID-19 symptoms. Four people are in intensive care.
The state posted 1,130 new cases on Saturday.
There were 704 new infections in the Australian Capital Territory, while 30 people are in hospital with the virus. One person is in intensive care.
