A Kansas police officer has been fired after threatening a five-year-old child on Facebook following the Dallas police attack.

The Overland Park Police Department in Kansas fired an officer after he made threats against a stranger's daughter on a 2014 public photo of the little girl.

"We'll see how much her life matters soon," he wrote on a photo of LaNaydra Williams' daughter posing in a pair of boots.

"Better be careful leaving your info open where she can be found :) Hold her close tonight it'll be the last time."

The comment came just after five Dallas policemen were shot and killed during a Black Lives Matter rally against police brutality last Thursday in Dallas, Texas.

Williams, who lives in Texas, said she didn't know the man, had no ties to Kansas, and was not sure how the stranger found her Facebook page.

"It's not ok. Not my child. She's all I have. [She] is my heart," Williams told

"For this guy to just come out of nowhere, just being disrespectful. How can you be an officer? How, how? It's unacceptable for anyone, but especially for a police officer.

"Cops like this don't value our lives and have the audacity to publicly comment on my child's picture."

Overland Park police fired the officer the next morning, saying "it was obvious that our officer did not meet the standards of professionalism".
But Williams said she still feared for her daughter's life.

"How do I know he won't come and retaliate? How do I know that? I don't," she said.
