A Taiwanese woman has given birth to a premature baby girl on board a China Airlines flight to Los Angeles.
The China Post has reported the woman, who was not quite 32 weeks pregnant, gave birth with the help of a doctor, who happened to be on board, and flight attendants.
A YouTube video shows passengers applauding as the baby cries for the first time and female flight attendants wiping the baby with tissues and wrapping her in a blanket.
The China Post reported the flight was diverted to Anchorage, Alaska, when the woman went into labour.
The baby was born about 30 minutes before the plane landed in Alaska.
The Post quoted a China Airlines spokesperson saying women who were less than 32 weeks pregnant were allowed to fly, but advised pregnant women to get advice from their doctor before travelling.
