Rules are being eased for people flying into NSW from New Zealand, with arrivals no longer required to quarantine.

The new rules apply from 12.01am on Friday, NSW Health said in a statement late on Thursday.

People who have been in Auckland for the past 14 days will be exempt from hotel quarantine provided they seek testing for COVID-19 after arriving in NSW.

They must self-isolate in their accommodation until they receive a negative result.

If a person has only been in Auckland airport after flying into Auckland airport from another part of New Zealand, they will not be required to quarantine or self-isolate on arrival in NSW.
NSW Health said New Zealand was considered a low risk of COVID-19, with no more new cases reported in the recent Auckland cluster since February 28.

NSW has had no new locally transmitted COVID cases for more than 50 days but NSW Health said it continues to urge anyone with even the mildest cold-like symptoms to come forward for testing then isolate until they receive a negative result.

People in Australia must stay at least 1.5 metres away from others. Check your jurisdiction's restrictions on gathering limits.

If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, stay home and arrange a test by calling your doctor or contact the Coronavirus Health Information Hotline on 1800 020 080. News and information is available in 63 languages at
