Scott Morrison must put some policies on the table when he appears before the National Press Club, shadow treasurer Chris Bowen says.
Mr Morrison will make his first address to the club as treasurer on Wednesday, just months out from his pre-election budget.
"Scott Morrison must come to the press club tomorrow with more than slogans, more than platitudes," Mr Bowen told reporters in Brisbane on Tuesday.
Mr Morrison said neither he nor the government will be "heckled or bullied" into making decisions without proper consideration.
He told reporters in Brisbane the May budget will outline the measures the government has been working carefully through.
