HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE CSIRO'S SURVEY OF ALMOST 18,000 AUSTRALIANS ON CLIMATE CHANGE
* Almost 80 per cent believe climate change is happening.
* Just under half (45.9pc) agree it is largely caused by humans, while 38.6pc say it's just a natural fluctuation.
* 28pc of Liberal voters accept it is driven by human activity compared to 59pc of those who vote for Labor, 22pc of Nationals supporters and 76pc of Greens backers.
* People think big polluting countries, multi-national corporations and wealthy countries are the most responsible for causing it.
* Most people who accept climate change is human-induced are more likely to base their opinion on "scientific research".
* People who don't believe climate change is happening or caused by natural processes are more likely to base it on "common sense", "the weather" or "historical events".
* People trust university scientists the most to provide truthful information about climate change, while oil companies were the least trusted source.
