Queensland has recorded a single new local coronavirus case from more than 22,200 tests.
The new community case is a close contact of an infection announced on Monday and is linked to a man who travelled to Eumundi on the Sunshine Coast while infectious.
The new case, a student nurse, has the less contagious Alpha variant of the virus and had not been on campus during her infectious period.
She had a brief one-hour consultation at Logan Hospital on 28 June with a patient who has since tested negative.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said on Tuesday the new caseload was "great news".
She said if people keep wearing face masks, socially distance, get tests and check in using QR codes, outbreaks will be brought under control.
"Great news today, thank you Queensland for the wonderful work that you're doing and, as I said, if we're all doing the right thing, we will get through this together," she told reporters.
Chief Health Officer Jeanette Young said she was "not particularly concerned" about the new case.
"I believe it is low risk but we are as always, of course, taking it very, very seriously, and looking at all potential exposure sites," she said.
Deputy Police Commissioner Steve Gollschewski said a 32-year-old Sydney woman had been caught after escaping from hotel quarantine in Cairns.
He said the woman was found at a Cairns property and is facing criminal charges after scaling balconies and kicking in a door to escape the hotel.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Yvette D'Ath confirmed that Queensland would be getting an additional 200,000 COVID-19 vaccines in July, or 64,350 Pfizer vaccines per week, which is a rise of 10,000 per week from June.
