Childcare representatives will lobby Education Minister Simon Birmingham on Wednesday over proposed changes to the industry.

Mums and dads will have to undertake at least eight hours of work-related activity, study or volunteer a fortnight to qualify for a new taxpayer-funded subsidy.

The Australian Childcare Alliance president Gwynn Bridge fears the changes will negatively impact vulnerable families.
