Naomi: Naomi here from the Department of Oz-speak. Leisure activities.
———
Ziad: Five and three. I've got you now, Uncle.
Where is that, Auntie?

Aunty Mariam: The Royal National Park. Every month. It's a club.

Ziad: Club? Like disco?

Aunty Mariam: No, it's when a group of people do something they like together. That's a club. This is a bushwalking club.

Uncle Rami: You need strong legs. Not those chicken legs you have.

Aunty Mariam: Rami. Ziad’s chicken legs will be strong enough.

Uncle Rami: Ah ha! Got you again, my little chicken-legged friend.

Ziad: Come on, one more.

Aunty Mariam: Leila, you're home. Hey, how was work?

Aunty Mariam: Okay, a boy threw up on my shoes.

Uncle Rami: Yeah, it happens.

Ziad: I've done it twice to Leila.

Leila: How was job hunting today?

Ziad: Ahh. You know I was thinking maybe I could be a professional backgammon player.

Uncle Rami: He'll make so much money.

Leila: Great I'll just quit my job and take up tennis.

Aunty Mariam: Leave it to me.
What's the matter Leila?

Leila: I wish he could be more serious. We can't stay here forever.

Aunty Mariam: But we love having you here. Don't stress. He'll learn soon enough. Why don't I take us all out and do something fun for a change? We could go bushwalking or go to the beach. We can watch a movie or a sports match. Anything.

Leila: Bushwalking?

Aunty Mariam: Great, bushwalking it is.

Leila: Oh, you can teach me photography.

Aunty Mariam: Sure... the leader of our club is very photogenic.

Uncle Rami: Alright Mariam, I think we should get moving. Yes, come on, yallah. What's so funny?
Come on Mariam. It's this way.
Mariam!

Naomi: In Australia there are so many leisure activities. There's entertainment like going to the movies or a concert. There's sports like football and cricket. Then there's my favourite exploring the great outdoors going to the beach or bushwalking. So get out there and do a leisure activity.
