Muslim AFLW star responds after withdrawing from match over pride shirt

Giants A-F-L-W player Haneen Zreika [[hah-NEEN ZRAY-kuh]] has broken her silence on her decision to sit out her club’s match against the Western Bulldogs. The first Muslim athlete to play in the AFLW, she says it was a difficult choice to refuse to wear the 'Pride' jumper on religious grounds. The decision has been supported by a number of her teammates and the Australian National Imams Council, who have praised her for the way she handled the situation. Read more here.
