The announcement was made late last night via High Commissions social media.
It states that a special flight will evacuate people from Sydney on 14th of June 2020 and priority will be given to Pakistani nationals who are in Australia on a visit visa.
People who would like to avail this opportunity will be required to re-register their details with the High Commission even if they had previously registered.
Details can be registered by filling out a which requires a few details such as identification details, passport, nationality, visa status and reason for return to Pakistan.
In a conversation with SBS Urdu in April 2020 High Commissioner of Pakistan in Canberra, Babar Amin said that the reason behind this registration is to help the Government of Pakistan in the planning of repatriating Pakistanis from foreign countries.
“The registration process helps us in informing the Pakistani Government about the number of total people who are stranded due to the lockdown and want to go back home,” said Mr Amin.
“The government is currently planning to evacuate Pakistanis around the world and we want Pakistanis in Australia to be included in that list so they can be repatriated in an organised manner.”

‘Sigh of relief’ as 300 Australians return home on special flight from Pakistan
Earlier in April more than 200 Pakistanis were successfully repatriated to Pakistan on a special flight from Melbourne to Lahore.
In May, a second special flight was supposed to run from Sydney to Karachi but was cancelled just a few days before its scheduled departure due to low ticket sales on the Karachi to Sydney leg.
With the ease of restrictions in Pakistan all outbound international flights are now operational whereas only a limited number of inbound international flights are being operated due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases and limited quarantine facilities.
According to the current announcement by the High Commission it was also advised that Temporary Visa holders who wish to travel to Pakistan might not be able to return as per the current regulations put in place by the Australian Government.
Australian permanent residents, citizen and dual nationals who wish to travel to Pakistan will be required to obtain permission from relevant local authorities.
People in Australia must stay at least 1.5 metres away from others. Check your state’s restrictions on gathering limits.
