Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team Captain, Bismah Maroof is currently in Australia leading the World’s Global Development Squad (WGDS) comprised of players from Scotland, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Thailand, Ireland and New Zealand.

WGDS team is playing matches against the Big Bash League (local T20 League) teams.

Bismah told SBS Urdu that despite the current performance everyone should support the team in difficult times.

“It was Sarfaraz who got this team to the number one World Ranking,” Bismah said.

“We have to back him during difficult times. Don’t be too critical on him. Give him his due space."
“The team deserves support and everyone should make an effort to help the team get back to being number one.

“The speciality of Pakistan Men’s team is all about playing positive and the team players have always been energetically led by Sarfaraz.

“As far as I know Sarfaraz, he looks after the team members both on and off the field and they respond to him very well too.
Pakistan team has been the champion of T20 World Cup and winner of so many matches. No one should take them lightly just because of a couple of matches.
Pakistan lost the T-20 series 3-0 against the Sri Lankan cricket team which was composed of young and inexperienced players.

Sports Journalist Shahid Hashmi told SBS Urdu that Pakistan Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed’s own performance was not up to the mark which added to the overall pressure on the team.

“He looked under pressure throughout the series, missed a few catches, even his captaincy during the matches is being questioned.

However, Sarfaraz’s record of T20 matches is astonishing, he has played 37 matches and won 29 of them which is around 80% winning ratio as a Captain.

In Pakistan, people are forgetful about his earlier performance and are criticizing him on the current difficult situation coupled with the team’s continuous losing streak which has created an uncertain future for him.
The Australian series might be a make or break for Pakistan Captain Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Pakistan Women’s Team Captain said that the current tour has been a great learning experience to captain players from different countries and will be helpful for the T20 World Cup next year.

On the upcoming tour of Pakistan in Australia later this year, Bismah said that the Men’s team management and players know what sort of preparation is required.

“My recommendation would be to practice for the pace and bounce on Australian pitches.”

“I am confident the team will make a great strategy to win matches in Australia.
