Issues, views and suggestions-SBS Urdu connects with Brisbane community

Census 2021 reveals that the number of Urdu speakers in Australia has climbed to 111,873, of which 95,000 were born in Pakistan. Brisbane, the third-largest city in Australia and the capital of Queensland, has a total population of about 5.1 million. Brisbane-based community members shared their views, issues and suggestions with SBS Urdu during community connect sessions.

Mr Asad Basit, Mr Arshad Hussain, Mr Syed Asghar Naqvi and Mr Danial Ahmed participated in the discussion forum and asked questions about the responsibilities and charter of SBS as a multicultural broadcaster of the federal government.

The third Eid-ul-Fitr community picnic was organized by Tariq Naveed of Australian Culture and Arts at Riverdale Park in Meadow Break (Brisbane) and was attended by a large number of community members and was moderated by renowned Brisbane journalist Khalid Bhatti.
