The Slovak government announced a two-week lockdown and a new state of emergency for 90 days


Slovakia is the third least vaccinated country in the EU and hospitals are on the verge of a humanitarian crisis. After a visit to the Ružinov Hospital in Bratislava, President Zuzana Čaputová said that Slovakia was losing the fight against the pandemic and called on people to: "stop talking silly about covid and start listening to experts".

The current vaccination rate in Slovakia is 47.33%
