British Prime Minister Theresa May says that both the U-K and the European Union are looking for a "comprehensive free trade agreement" as they negotiate the former's departure from the 28-member bloc.
A letter signed by Ms May was delivered overnight to the European Council President Donald Tusk notifying the E-U of Britain's intention to leave.
It gives Britain two years to complete exit negotiations.
Ms May says ensuring access to the European single market will be a key priority.
