Here is the latest report about the cut of Immigration level in Australia.

A high-powered federal government agency has entered the debate over immigration levels.

In a report relased today (23/02), Infrastructure Australia says Australia can't afford to spurn the opportunities presented by population growth.

The immgration debate has been re-started this week by former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who's suggested immigration levels be cut back from 180 thousand people per year to 110 thousand.

He's been rebuked by several government colleagues.

Australia's population, currently slightly more than 24 million people, is expected to grow to more than 35 million people by 2046.
