The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have impacted organ and tissue donation in Australia, with a 12 per cent decline in people receiving a transplant and a 16 per cent decrease in donors. As a result, nearly 2,000 Australians are waiting for a transplant while 12,000 others are on dialysis, battling, waiting and hoping for an organ donation to come through.
