The coronavirus pandemic has forced councils around the country to cancel their citizenship ceremonies until further notice. It's left many people unable to make their formal pledge of allegiance or receive their certificate of citizenship. And concern is growing, with the Department of Home Affairs yet to confirm how it intends to formally confer new citizenship.
