ਕੁਈਨਜ਼ ਬੈਟਨ ਦੀ ੧੦੦ਦਿਨਾਂ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਕਾਮਨਵੈਲਥ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਦਘਾਟਨੀ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਤੇ ਆਕੇ ਖਤਮ ਹੋਈ।
ਲੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ੯੯ਵੇਂ ਦਿਨ ੩ ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਗੋਲ੍ਡ ਕੋਸ੍ਟ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਤੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦੀ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਗੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕੁਈਨਜ਼ ਬੈਟਨ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹਕੇ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਲਗਵਾਈ।
ਓਹਨਾਂ ਐਸ ਬੀ ਐੱਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਓਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਮਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੀ, ਇਹ ਉਹ ਪਲ ਸੀ ਜਿਸਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਉਮਰ ਭਰ ਯਾਦ ਰੱਖਣਗੇ।

Indian-Australians have proudly carried the Queen’s Baton as it travelled around Australia on a 100-day journey to the opening ceremony of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.
On the day 99 of the Queens Baton Relay on 3 April 2018, Surjit Singh represented the Gold Coast Sikh Council and the local Indian community.
“It’s an honour to be part of this prestigious event. I’ll cherish this moment for rest of my life,” he said.
The Queen’s baton had travelled across the globe on its way to Australia.
Nearly 3,800 Australians shared the honour of carrying the baton in its final lap to take it to Gold Coast where the eleven-day sporting carnival begun on April 4, 2018.
The other members of the Indian-Australian community to carry the Queen’s Baton were:
Aditi Bhalla (NSW), Pushpa Ajay Bakshi (QLD), Neha Dhingra (QLD) Tejinder Pal Singh (NT), Aparna Patankar (ACT), Mokhtiar Singh (QLD), Sharleen Sraon (QLD), Dhami Singh (VIC), Sonia Singh (TAS) and Shlok Sharma (NT).
