ਐਵਲੋਨ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਟਰਮੀਨਲ 'ਤੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਪੱਧਰ' 'ਤੇ ਅਪਗ੍ਰੇਡ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿਕਟੋਰੀਆ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਏਅਰਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਨੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ 5 ਦਸੰਬਰ 2018 ਤੋਂ ਮੈਲਬੌਰਨ ਦੇ ਐਵਲੋਨ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਐਵਲੋਨ-ਕੁਆਲਾਲੰਪੁਰ ਹਵਾਈ ਮਾਰਗ ਉੱਤੇ ਏਅਰਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਦਾ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਦਾ ਕੈਰੀਅਰ ਏਅਰਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਐਕਸ ਜਹਾਜ਼ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾ ਦੋ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਭਰੇਗਾ।
ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਏਅਰਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਹੁਣ ਐਵਲੋਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਆਲਾਲੰਪੁਰ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਏਸ਼ੀਆਈ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ।
ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਣ-ਆਉਣ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਯਾਤਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਫੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਹੈ।
ਮੈਲਬੌਰਨ ਦੇ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ ਕੁੱਕ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ, ਐਵਲੋਨ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਟਰਮੀਨਲ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹਨ।
"ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਅਕਸਰ ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਲਈ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਵਧੀਆ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹੁਣ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਦੋ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡਿਆਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਹਵਾਈ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਧਨ ਹਨ।"
"ਇਹ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਮਹਿਜ਼ 30 ਮਿੰਟ ਦੀ ਔਫ-ਪੀਕ ਡਰਾਇਵ 'ਤੇ ਸਥਿਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਗੱਲ ਏਅਰਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਹਵਾਈ ਉਡਾਣਾਂ ਆਮ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਬਾਕੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਸਸਤੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਪੈਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।"
ਏਅਰਏਸ਼ੀਆ ਦਾ ਅੰਦਾਜ਼ਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਰੀਬ 500,000 ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮੁਸਾਫ਼ਿਰ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਵਿਚ ਐਵਲੋਨ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਨਗੇ।

ਇਸ ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਓਲੋਂਗ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਲਬੌਰਨ ਦੇ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਵਧ ਰਹੇ ਪੱਛਮੀ ਉਪਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸਫਰ ਤਕ ਆਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਉਮੀਦ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ।
ਹਵਾਈ ਅੱਡੇ ਦੇ ਸੀਈਓ ਜਸਟਿਨ ਗਇਡਿੰਗਜ਼ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਹੋਰ ਏਅਰਲਾਈਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਟਰਮੀਨਲ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ 'ਤੇ ਵੀ ਕੰਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
ਨਵੇਂ ਅੰਤਰਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਟਰਮੀਨਲ ਦਾ ਉਦਘਾਟਨ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਨੇਟਰ ਮਾਰੀਸ ਪੇਨ ਅਤੇ ਲੌਰਾ ਸੰਸਦੀ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੇ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਜੌਨ ਇਰੇਨ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

Victoria’s second international airport has officially opened its doors after a massive upgrade at Avalon’s international terminal.
AirAsia announced it will commence international flights from Melbourne’s Avalon Airport from 5 December 2018.
The Melbourne-Kuala Lumpur route will operate twice daily on AirAsia's long-haul carrier AirAsia X on an A330-300 aircraft.
With the new arrangements, AirAsia is now set to connect Avalon with major Asian cities via Kuala Lumpur.
The flights are expected to benefit passengers who wish to travel to the Indian cities of New Delhi and Amritsar.
Amarjeet Singh who lives in Melbourne’s western suburb of Point Cook is very pleased with the completion of the international terminal at Avalon.
“I often visit New Delhi to see my elderly parents. This is an exciting time for us and our area as we have more options to fly through two different airports,” said Mr Singh.
“The airport is ideally situated at a 30 minutes off-peak drive from my home and I can’t wait to avail this opportunity as it also comes at a relatively lower price with Air Asia.
“I am also attracted to toll-free roads and a hassle-free affordable parking offered at Avalon.”
AirAsia estimates around 500,000 international passengers will pass through Avalon Airport in the first year of operation.
The airport is expected to provide an easier and affordable access to international travel for people living in Geelong and Melbourne’s fast-growing western suburbs.
Airport CEO Justin Giddings said a plan to extend the terminal for other airlines is also on the cards.
"I think a lot of airlines are waiting to see if it's real," he said.
“Our mission is to be the best small airport in the world by providing passengers the service they expect of an international airport with the best price and greater efficiency.”
The new international terminal was officially opened on Saturday by Senator Marise Payne, Minister for Foreign Affairs and John Eren MP, Member for Lara.
Earlier this year, Avalon Airport and AirAsia announced they would be teaming up to offer the first ever international flights out of Avalon.

The first flights will commence on Wednesday morning with Air Asia also moving their operations to the site.
