NSW

New South Wales has recorded 787 new cases of community transmission to 8pm last night, and 12 deaths.

Premier Gladys Berejiklian made major announcements regarding a three stage lockdown lift, expected to commence on Monday October 11. This is when NSW Health anticipates the state will reach 70% full-vaccination of those aged 16 and over.

It’s worth noting that the Department of Health’s most recently available data, from last Wednesday, suggests that double-dose vaccination rates among New South Wales’ Indigenous population is still approximately 12% lower than that overall rate.

For those under stay-at-home orders in the Kempsey LGA at the moment, the Durri Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service is partnering in a ‘Super Saturday’ pop-up vaccination clinic this Saturday October 2nd. From 9.30am to 4.30pm both AstraZeneca and Pfizer will be available at the South Kempsey Neighbourhood Improvement Project in South Kempsey. It’s walk-in appointments, just bring your Medicare card and make sure to wear a mask.

The Western NSW Local Health District has recorded 24 new cases — 11 in Wellington, 5 in Dubbo, 4 in Cowra, 2 in Blayney, 1 in Narromine and 1 in Canowindra.
