Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley today acknowledged the significant gap between vaccination rates for Victoria’s Indigenous population compared to the overall rate of vaccination in the state.
Foley said that according to their data, 58% of Indigenous Victorians are fully-vaccinated compared to 74.7% among the overall population, a difference of a little under 17%.
To combat this, Foley assured Victorians that the government will be working closely with organisations such as the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service in order to continue to provide culturally safe vaccination services both across the regions and in metropolitan Melbourne.
