New South Wales recorded 1022 new cases of community transmission to 8pm last night, and a further 10 deaths.

Health Minister Brad Hazzard announced at today’s 11am press conference that three more Local Government Areas would be entering an immediate 7-day lockdown from 5pm today. They are the Tweed, Byron and Kempsey LGAs.

For mob in the area, Kempsey’s Durri Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service announced last Friday that they’ve reverted to no face-to-face consults unless specifically requested by a health professional. This’ll be until at least October 1st, so do not present to the service as a walk-in patient without calling first.

The Western NSW Local Health District recorded 7 new cases overnight — 4 in Dubbo, 1 in Walgett, 1 in Cowra and 1 in Mudgee.

Health District CEO Scott MacLachlan confirmed that the new Cowra case is as yet unlinked to yesterday’s positive case in Cowra. This has raised questions and concerns about how and where the virus has spread, so everyone is urged to get tested if you can.

State Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders announced that surveillance testing is now available throughout the entire health district. This means that you can get tested, and if you’re not experiencing symptoms, you do not have to isolate while you wait for the results. You can continue to work, or go grocery shopping, those types of essential activities.
