New South Wales has recorded 372 new cases of community transmission to 8pm last night, and one death, a man aged in his 50s from South-East Sydney. He’d received a single dose.
The Hunter New England Local Health District recorded 74 new cases — 23 in Newcastle, 15 in Maitland, 12 in Lake Macquarie, 9 in Cessnock, 8 in MidCoast, 4 in Port Stephens and 3 in Tamworth.
The Western NSW Local Health District recorded 2 new cases — 1 in Bathurst and 1 in Orange.
The Far West Local Health District recorded 3 new cases, all of which were in the Wentworth LGA.
Victoria
In Victoria there were 2232 new locally acquired cases recorded to midnight last night, and 12 deaths. This brings the state’s total active cases to 22,889.
Regional Victoria recorded 215 new cases overnight, the first time there have been over 200 daily cases across the regions. These include 41 in Latrobe, 28 in Bendigo, 24 in Shepparton, 21 in Geelong, 18 in Mitchell Shire and 7 in Mildura. There are now 1811 total active cases across regional Victoria.

Victoria has crossed over the 70% full-vaccination rate among its population aged 16 and over as of today. This coincides with metropolitan Melbourne’s lockdown lift scheduled for 11.59pm tonight, when many freedoms will be reintroduced for Victorians.
These include 10 visitors in the home, outdoor gatherings of up to 15 people, the return of community sport, weddings and funerals with up to 20 guests indoors or 50 guests outdoors, students back at school at least part-time, and hair-dressing and personal care services will be reopened at a limited capacity.
It was also announced today that Mildura would be joining Melbourne in its lockdown lift at midnight tonight, returning to the same health settings as the rest of regional Victoria.
