New South Wales recorded 165 new cases to 8pm last night, and one death. There are now 2906 total active cases across the state, and a full vaccination rate of 91.1% among those aged over 16.
The Hunter New England Local Health District recorded 44 new cases —18 in MidCoast, 7 in Newcastle, 6 in Lake Macquarie, 4 in Tamworth, 2 in Inverell, 2 in Port Stephens, 1 in Cessnock, 1 in Dungog, 1 in Liverpool Plains and 1 in Moree Plains.
There are currently 914 active cases in the Hunter New England district, representing a little under a third of all active cases in NSW.
The Western NSW Local Health District recorded no new cases for a second consecutive day, after recording just one new case in Cowra over the weekend on Saturday.
The Far West Local Health District recorded no new cases. However, there were 8 new cases over the weekend — 5 in Broken Hill, 2 in Menindee and 1 in Ivanhoe. There are currently 29 active cases in the Far West district.
Victoria
In Victoria there were 860 new locally acquired cases to midnight last night, and five deaths. There are now 17,518 total active cases across Victoria, and a full vaccination rate of 87% among those aged over 12.
Regional Victoria recorded 93 new cases overnight, including 19 in Geelong, 17 in Shepparton, 10 in Bendigo, 7 in Baw Baw and 7 in Campaspe.
There are currently 439 active cases across Greater Shepparton, 419 in Latrobe, 310 in Greater Geelong, and 96 in Mildura.
