New South Wales has passed over a 90% overall full-vaccination rate for those aged over 16. This comes as data released yesterday shows that the state’s Indigenous population is still yet to reach 80%, currently sitting at 78.84%.
New South Wales recorded 261 new cases of community transmission to 8pm last night, and one death. A woman in her 60s from South Western Sydney passed away at Sutherland hospital, she was unvaccinated.
The Hunter New England Local Health District recorded 60 new cases — 15 in Moree Plains, 14 in MidCoast, 6 in Inverell, 6 in Tamworth, 5 in Armidale, 5 in Port Stephens, 4 in Cessnock, 3 in Newcastle, 1 in Lake Macquarie and 1 in Maitland.
The Western NSW Local Health District recorded 4 new cases, all of which were in Bathurst.
The Far West Local Health District recorded 1 new case in Ivanhoe.
Victoria
In Victoria there were 1313 new locally acquired cases recorded to midnight last night, and 4 deaths. There are now 15,675 total active cases across the state.
Regional Victoria recorded 220 new cases, including 38 in Latrobe, 32 in Geelong, 32 in Shepparton, 13 in Campaspe, 11 in Baw Baw, 11 in East Gippsland and 10 in Mildura.
There are now 444 total active cases in Latrobe, 415 in Greater Shepparton, 192 in Wodonga, and 102 in Mildura.
