NSW recorded 864 new cases of community transmission

NSW

New South Wales has recorded 864 new cases of community to 8pm last night, and 15 deaths.

The Western NSW Local Health District has recorded 48 new cases overnight — 21 in Wellington, 9 in Narromine, 5 in Cowra, 4 in Dubbo, 3 in Gulgong and 2 in Oberon.

Additionally in district, the Narromine LGA re-entered lockdown as of midnight last night along with Kyogle in the state’s north. The stay-at-home orders are currently expected to lift on Monday October 11.

The Far West Local Health District recorded 7 new cases, all of which were in Broken Hill.

And a reminder for everyone in Kempsey that the Durri Aboriginal Corporation Medical Service is hosting their Super Saturday Vaccine Pop-up tomorrow. That’s being held at Dunghutti Elders on South Street in South Kempsey from 9.30am until 4pm. Everyone aged 12 and over is welcome to come in and receive a Pfizer vaccine. Make sure to bring a Medicare card, Photo ID and wear a mask.

Victoria

In Victoria there were 1143 new locally acquired cases to midnight last night, and 3 deaths.

Regional Victoria recorded 62 new cases — including 12 in Mitchell Shire, 12 in Shepparton and 6 in Moorabool.

The Moorabool Shire LGA will enter a 7-day snap lockdown from midnight tonight as its total active case numbers have grown to 32.

Premier Dan Andrews announced today that all workers on the authorised workers list must have received their first vaccination dose by October 15 if they wish to keep working.
