The latest news on the current Delta strain outbreak affecting regional NSW and Victoria's Indigenous communities.

  • Pfizer third-dose booster shots made available in NSW state-run clinics starting today
  • Regional Victoria recorded 288 new cases

NSW

New South Wales recorded 135 new cases of community transmission to 8pm last night, and four deaths, including a 101-year-old woman from Albury. There are now 3506 total active cases in NSW.

To be eligible, you must be over 18 years old and have received your second-dose vaccination at least 6 months prior to the booster shot. It’s a Pfizer vaccine, regardless of which brand you received for your first and second dose. So if you’ve had your second-dose, start thinking about when you’ll be eligible for booster, six months after.

The Hunter New England Local Health District recorded 30 new cases — 9 in Newcastle, 8 in Lake Macquarie, 4 in Cessnock, 4 in MidCoast, 2 in Maitland, 1 in Dungog, 1 in Port Stephens and 1 in Tamworth.

The Western NSW Local Health District recorded 2 new cases, both in Bathurst.

The Far West Local Health District recorded just one new case, in Broken Hill.

The Griffith Aboriginal Medical Service will be closed all day tomorrow, Tuesday November 2nd, for staff training. The service will reopen as normal on Wednesday November 3rd at 8am.
