Deo Ashish Mothey is not your everyday singer, musician or a composer.

Mothey got hooked into music pretty much when he learned to speak. His first instrument was a tin can of a ghee that lay around in his parent's home.

Growing up amongst the lush tea gardens in Darjeeling, where tea pluckers used to sing on their way to work, his fascination with music kept growing.

He not only went on to study music but also got himself trained on unique and rare musical instrument called Esraj.

Having studied in an English medium school, Mothey felt he was not good in Nepali, as he should be. This always stuck with him.

To help young children learn the Nepali alphabets  - known as "Warnamala", he started making musical cartoon videos of them amongst other nursery rhymes in Nepali.

Mothey is currently touring Australia with his band - The Three Seas. You can find more details .
