The 35-year-old was arrested and charged in 2018 after being filmed by a hidden camera hitting David Nabulsy with a shoe and pulling him to the floor at a Bupa aged cared facility in Seaforth in Sydney's north shore where Paudyal worked.
He had pleaded guilty over the allegations during a hearing at Manly local court in December 2018.
In handing down his sentence, Magistrate Christopher Longley said Paudel had "departed significantly" from his duty of care towards Mr Nabulsy.
"The care required did not occur at the facility", the Magistrate said.

Paudel's defence team told the court that their client was under increased family, financial and mental pressure and his actions against the victim were not pre-meditated.
They urged the Magistrate to not take the charges against their client as the "highest order of assault", which the prosecutors had wanted.
Magistrate Longley agreed with the prosecution and said the incident didn't happen in the street but at a place entrusted to care for the victim.
The court heard that Prakash Paudyal was sacked by his employer after his arrest and that he would not be able to work be able to work in aged care in the future.
