The iconic open-air festival WOMADelaide has returned to South Australia's capital for 2023, and this year among the sold out crowds rang out the sounds of the gaida, tambura and tapan accompanied by The Adelaide Macedonian folkloric ensemble, Sloboda.

In a giant dance circle hosted by the musical trio Gosti and led by folk choreographer Yorgo Kaporis along with members of Sloboda, the sold out crowd enjoyed some of the best of Macedonian traditional dance and song in the diaspora.

Hear from Iva Durovska, member of the folkloric ensemble, Sloboda what this performance means for the small but passionate Macedonian community in Adelaide.
