Tottenham coach Mauricio Pochettino has called for Son Heung-min’s red card to be rescinded after a tackle that resulted in a horrific broken leg for Everton midfielder Andre Gomes.
The Spurs forward lunged into a tackle and clipped Gomes’ foot, which resulted in him losing balance and colliding with another Tottenham player.
Gomes ankle was facing a different direction following the collision, which resulted in Heung-min and other players to become visibly upset as the Everton midfielder screamed on the floor.
Referee Martin Atkinson initially issued a yellow card but subsequently followed it up with a red.
