Renowned unification expert and former minister for Unification Mr Joeng Se-hyun has emphasised that peace economy is a quintessential approach to the achievement of unification of South and North Korea.

Mr Jeong Se-hyun, the Executive Vice Chairperson of the National Unification Advisory Council, a South Korea’s constitutional advisory panel chaired by the South Korean President Moon Jae-in, has delivered a keynote speech to 150 Korean community representatives in Australia on the occasion of the inauguration of the 19th term NUAC Australia.

Mr Jeong has argued that the ultimate goal of the unification of South and North Korea should be achieved  through three steps, on the basis of the peace economy framework; one economy, social and cultural integration, and the one political system.

He has also stressed, “It is time to shift our perspective on unification from historic appropriateness to economic benefits.
