In 1891, 11 Italians were killed in New Orleans in the largest mass lynching in US history.


The US city of New Orleans has announced it will apologise for the lynching of 11 Italian-Americans in 1891.

Some of the victims had been accused of murdering a police chief, but were acquitted after a trial.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is now set to issue an apology to Italian-Americans.
