In Italy, the number of COVID-19 positive cases is rising: for the first time in weeks yesterday (13 August 2020) new infections exceeded 500 in 24 hours. According to the Italian national press agency ANSA, there are 925 active outbreaks in 9 regions at the moment.

A new lockdown "is definitely unlikely" according to Agostino Miozzo of civil protection, but restaurants and clubs closures "can become inevitable if we are not in control of the territory and the infections gets out of hand".
