Is curbing immigration the right response to congestion in Australia's big cities?

According to a Fairfax-Ipsos poll 45% of the population thinks the number of immigrants should be curbed.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has foreshadowed cuts to Australia's migration intake, saying the major cities have become victims of their own success.

Sparking a new population debate, Mr Morrison says he wants the states and territories to give him answers on just how many people they can handle.

"Australians in our bigger cities, particularly here in Sydney but also in Melbourne and south-east Queensland, are very concerned about the rate of population growth. Not the existence of population growth, but the pace of population growth. The roads are clogged. The buses and the trains are full. The schools are taking no more enrolments. We have become, I think, in Sydney and Melbourne, a bit of a victim of our own success. And in south-east Queensland", said Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

This morning we asked our audience: do you agree with the prime minister? Is it time to limit the number of new immigrants?
