Not knowing English, Biagio worked as an apprentice in a fruit and vegetable shop in Sydney suburb of Willoughby. In 1964 he bought his own shop in the Western Sydney neighbourhood of Lakemba and over the years he continued to expand in other areas in the catering and reception halls sector. Biagio Signorelli died in 2008 of a tumor caused by asbestos and his last words to his son Paul were: "Expand the business, take care of the family and help the others".
