The Youth Pledge of 1928 is a watershed in Indonesian history. It established a vision of Indonesia as one country, one nation with a unifying language - Indonesian language. The pledge was announced at a boarding house owned by Sie Kong Lian at 106 Kramat Raya Street, Jakarta.


Researcher, "Professor" Udaya Halim and dr Christian Silman the great grandson of Sie Kong Lian, talk about the process undertaken to ensure that Sie Kong Lian’s family could grant the building at 106 Kramat Raya Street, which is now the Youth Pledge Museum, to be officially registered as a state asset.
