In March 2021, the number of bridging visa holders in Australia ballooned to a historic high of more than 350,000.

What is a Bridging Visa?
All non-citizens in Australia must maintain their legal status by holding the appropriate visa. But when the visa expires and they are waiting for their visa application, a temporary visa helps them maintain their legal status in Australia.

“Obtaining a liaison visa is not an outcome; it's part of the results process, and the outcome process may be a new visa while in Australia or making arrangements to legally leave Australia if you break the law,” said Alan Rigas of Alan Rigas Solicitors.
