The coronation of King Charles III wreaked mixed feelings for highly multi-cultural Australians.


The Roy Morgan poll conducted just days after Queen Elizabeth's death found 60 per cent of respondents supported remaining a monarchy rather than becoming a republic with an elected president.

But the Pure Profile poll, commissioned by the Australian Republican Movement and conducted last month, found 64 per cent somewhat or strongly agreed with the statement: “The concept of monarchy is the opposite of Australian values such as equality and fairness.”
